With the amazing innovations of today, it’s very real and very possible to take wearable technology into use as a way to measure one’s stress levels and pull out from those measurements a full array of data.
At Framery, we’re always interested in learning how our own workspace design can be evolved. It not only enables us to provide the best possible work environment for our employees, but it also helps us to innovate, collaborate and develop our customers’ own workspaces.
We continuously go all-out to provide workspaces that meet the different needs of each and every one of our employees. This workspace development is a constant process at our headquarters here in Tampere, Finland.
As a part of the Framery commitment to continuing our everlasting trend of workspace development, we asked 22 of our employees to wear a smart ring, in an effort for us to learn more about their stress levels. We were also interested in getting to know their individual and combined stress details when using our own Framery products throughout the day. In this way, we’d gain a better understanding of how our own products are affecting the stress levels of our real employees.
Our research revealed three interesting findings
- Stress levels while working in the pod were typical and rather low – but not every time. And a fun learning on what that phone call from the office on a Friday evening can do for stress.
- Each employee is truly unique, when it comes to reactivity to stress. We need a variety of spaces, as some of us are more sensitive to distractions and noise.
- Private spaces can be a resource throughout the work day
Planning workspaces or even considering it? It’s absolutely necessary to consider individuals and teams. In practice this is about getting to know individuals – what stresses them, what brings them joy and what spaces they need in order to be fluent and creative at work.
