We’ve had an exciting NeoCon this year! Framery has been honored in two distinct awards programs including IIDA/Contract Magazine’s Showroom & Booth Design Awards and Contract Magazine’s Best of NeoCon Awards. Hosted every June at The Merchandise Mart since the late 1960s, NeoCon has served as the commercial design industry’s launch pad for innovation—offering ideas and introductions that shape the built environment today and into the future—for over fifty years.
The first of Framery’s accolades from this year’s NeoCon is the Small Booth award, presented by the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) and Contract Magazine. The IIDA/Contract Magazine Showroom & Booth Design Competition recognizes originality of design, visual impact, effective use of materials, and the outstanding use of space, color, texture, lighting, and graphics in showrooms and booths at NeoCon.
We collaborated with “Reality to Idea” artist Joshua Vides to create an installation at the Merchandise Mart’s North Central Corridor. The display included our Framery 2Q pod that was transformed from its regular form into a two-dimensional sketch. The booth allowed trade show visitors to experience our product in a playful way.
“The winning showrooms and booths made both visual and experiential impacts. We are pleased to be honoring this year’s firms and manufacturers on their outstanding work.”
“Each year, this competition offers us exciting and beautiful ways to both effectively present products and enhance attendee experience through spatial innovation,”said IIDA Executive Vice President and CEO Cheryl S. Durst, Hon. FIIDA. “The winning showrooms and booths made both visual and experiential impacts. We are pleased to be honoring this year’s firms and manufacturers on their outstanding work.”
Additionally, Framery 2Q—our newest insulated pod model designed for four to six people—was honored with a Best of NeoCon 2019 Silver Award in recognition of the company’s Acoustic Privacy & Modular Solutions products.
Framery 2Q is a meeting pod conceptualized to combat the lack of privacy in an open office. Designed to accommodate four to six people, Framery 2Q provides users with a multifunctional workplace that offers a heightened sense of privacy and comfort. The pod serves as a space to brainstorm and collaborate, and its superior sound installation system ensures team huddles won’t disturb the rest of the office. Framery 2Q is available in three different layouts, providing users with a variety of options that enable a productive workday.
This year we debuted a new furnishing option designed for user comfort. The L-shaped sofa creates a more casual environment for company meetings, a calm space to retreat to during the work day, or an area for socializing. Clients can increase the pod’s functionality by attaching a display screen on the wall opposite to the sofa. Additional options include two whiteboards and lightweight free-standing, floating tables to make for a more ergonomic work space.
